At the evening meeting on 6 September 2012 Empress Mills will be present to give a talk and also have available for purchase items from their range of threads.  Please see below for a brief resume.

Empress Mills


Empress Mills roots lie deep in the textile heritage of Lancashire. Since 1927 the family owned company has been involved in the production of sewing thread.


They provide an International Mail Order Service to home stitchers, small businesses and educational establishments. Practical to Creative Threads, from general purpose sewing threads to overlocking/serging, to patchwork and quilting, lacemaking, tailoring, ‘woolly nylon’, machine embroidery, pure silk and 100% cotton.


Bobbins from 250 metres to large cones of 44,000m and everything in between!  Plus a huge array of haberdashery, zip fasteners and sewing accessories.

This will be the first evening meeting of 2012-2013 programme and members will be able to enrol.
